His research interests include fault diagnosis, fault handling, fault tolerant control, system and control theory, nonlinear dynamics and control, periodic systems, guidance and control of autonomous systems, and applications in a variety of fields including aerospace, marine and robotic systems.

Capsule Bio

Andrea Monteriù received the Laurea degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence Systems from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (former Università degli Studi di Ancona), Ancona, Italy, in 2003 and 2006, respectively. His MSc thesis, entitled "Fault-Tolerant Methods for Sensor Fusion", has been developed at the Automation Department of the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark.
From January 2005 to September 2005 he was a visiting scholar at the Center for Robot Assisted Search & Rescue of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, where he has developed part of his PhD thesis entitled "Model-Based Fault Diagnosis for Mobile Robotic Systems". Since 2007, he is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione (former Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica, Gestionale e dell'Automazione) of the Università Politecnica delle Marche.
