Mechanical Characterization and Material Formability Lab (formerly Production Technology and System Lab)

Room: Q145_139 A

The laboratory aims to support research activities related to the analysis and study of materials of engineering interest. In particular, mechanical and technological tests can be carried out for the characterization of materials (metals, composites, plastics, etc.), including:
• tensile and compression tests, both at room and high temperatures
• fatigue tests
• bending tests
• formability tests on sheet metals
The instruments and equipment are available to students for exam projects, curricular internships, and thesis work.

Main Facilities
  • 25 ton MTS 810 Universal Testing Machine
  • Furnace for high-temperature testing
  • Equipment for compression, bending, and sheet metal formability tests
