Courses

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences coordinates the Undergraduate’s Degree and Master’s Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering and Management Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering

The course of study is divided into a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree. During the first three years, the student acquires knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, design, machine construction, mechanical systems. The program is personalized with free choice courses to allow the students to refine their preparation according to their aptitudes and interests.
The Master’s Degree provides in-depth knowledge on specific disciplines by choosing four different curricula: Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Production Systems and Innovative Technologies, Energy.

Management Engineering

The course of study is divided into a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree.
The three-year course aims to prepare the figure of an engineer with a strong vocation for innovation, multidisciplinarity and technology, with transversal skills relating to the areas of industrial engineering, information and economic management. The free choice courses allow the student to personalize his study plan allowing him to refine the preparation according to his own aptitudes and interests.
The master’s degree program prepares a high-profile figure with adequate knowledge in basic subjects, in the main technological-applicative areas of engineering and, in depth, in those of management engineering. The student can choose between three different curricula: Sustainable Production and Logistics, Digitalization and Analysis of Corporate Information, Sustainable Innovation of Products and Processes.

Specialization courses
  • Applied acoustics and noise control methodologies: The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the activity of a competent acoustic technician. The figure of technician competent in environmental acoustics was established by Law 26.10.1995 n. 447: “Framework law on noise pollution” as a professional figure suitable for carrying out the measurements, verifying compliance with the values defined by current regulations, drawing up noise abatement plans, carrying out the related control activities “.
  • Architectures, Processes and Technologies for the digital transition of industry: The course aims at training, updating and professional retraining of participants on the issues of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, now Transition 4.0, to train resources ready to meet the challenges of industry of the future. The educational objectives of this Postgraduate Course have a highly interdisciplinary character ranging from user-centered production to Lean Manufacturing, industrial automation, enabling basic technologies for Industry 4.0 applications, safety and facilitation regulations.
  • Methods and Technologies for Mechanics 4.0 with in-depth studies of humanism: In collaboration with the University of Perugia: The course activated in collaboration with the University of Perugia aims to provide students with a review of skills on methods, innovative tools and technologies that allow the design and implementation of advanced mechanical systems through system integration, with particular reference to systems dedicated to the production of products and to quality and process control in the manufacturing sector. An integral part of the course will be an in-depth study of a humanistic nature on the role of technologies and their interaction with individuals and business organizations.
