LAB B+ 145 – Metal Additive Manufacturing

Room: Q145_NN

The B+ 145 – Metal additive manufacturing laboratory includes some of the main additive manufacturing technologies based on laser sources such as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED). The laboratory is equipped with a centralized environmental control system and a separate room for safe storage of the metal powders used by the two technologies. Further activities to be performed before additive manufacturing job include part design, redesign and optimization, together with numerical simulations of L-PBF and DED processes to support printing operations.

Main Facilities
  • Prima Additive (Altform) PRINT SHARP 250: Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) equipment.
  • Prima Additive (Altform) LASERDYNE® 430BD: Directed Energy Deposition (DED) equipment.
  • Ultrasonic sieve for metal powders Russel Finex MS400.
  • Metal powder drying oven DZF 6090.
  • Nabertherm furnace for post-printing heat treatments.
