Research Areas

The research activities refer to the field of design methods and tools, with particular interest in human-machine interaction and Human Factors analysis, Human-Centred design and Experience Design and the application of virtual reality technologies to support the development of products, processes and services and improve the experience with the product. The main research topics can be summarized as follows:

  • Human-Centred Design, Human Factors and Ergonomics;
  • Virtual Prototyping technologies and creation of immersive and interactive virtual environments;
  • Usability and Product Experience assessemnt in physical, virtual and hybrid environments,
  • Digitization and virtualization of product and process in the context of Factory 4.0 for the design of products, processes and services;
  • Method and tools for the evaluation of Customer experience “in the wild”.
