His research interests include design and development of sensors, measurement methods with particular attention to optical sensors, biomedical instrumentation and assistive tecnologies.

 

Capsule Bio

Lorenzo Scalise was born in Siena (Italy) in 1971. He recived the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering in 1996 at the Università degli Studi di Ancona (Italy) and received the title of PhD in Measurement Techniques at the Università degli Studi di Padova (Italy) in 1999. During the last year of  his phD he has worked as a research fellow at the Biomedical Optics group at Universiteit Twente (The Netherlands). From 2000, he is technician at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (former at the Dipartimento di Meccanica) of the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy).

His research interests are in the field of measurement techniques, with particular focus on the development of biomedical instrumentation and assistive technologies. He is also working in the field of optical sensors for industrial application.

He is member of Institute of the: Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) and Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM).
