Integral unidimensional functional in the calculus of variations

Description

Necessary conditions and sufficient conditions are studied concerning the existence of the minimum for integral functionals, neither convex, nor coercive, of the calculus of variations. The study emphasizes the role of the boundary data in the existence of the minumum and the qualitative properties of the minimizing trajectories (bimonotonicity).
