Research Areas

New methodologies for non-destructive testing (NDT) of mechanical components in the transport, aeronautic and construction sectors. Development and experimental validation of acoustic, structural and CFD numerical FE models. Part of the research activity is performed within European projects.

Capsule Bio

Alfonso Cavuto is a Post-Doctoral researcher within the Mechanical and Thermal Measurement Group at DIISM. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) at Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2008 with a thesis entitled ” Sviluppo e sperimentazione di tecniche di misura dei parametri caratteristici del funzionamento di sonde ad ultrasuoni senza contatto”. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Management at Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2012 with a thesis entitled ” Sviluppo e sperimentazione di un sistema di misura ad ultrasuoni per il controllo non distruttivo di materiali compositi di forma complessa”.
