Energy Demand Modeling
The development of tools and methodologies for the optimal design of the energy production and storage systems mix presumes the availability of data of different types with regards to user energy demands. Thanks to the many scientific collaborations and participation in European and national projects, the group gained the possibility of working on many datasets measured in real world applications. However, the need to extend models, methodologies and tools to other national and/or international contexts where the data availability is scarce or even absent, generated the need to develop a set of simulation models for different end-user energy demands: both in residential and industrial sectors. In particular, models for the electricity, space heating and cooling, and electric vehicle (EV) charging have been developed by both thinking at controllable and non-controllable loads.
